Patching Babel
Hello everyone,
Last week was a quite interesting one. I am getting in the heart of the project. I used openVPN to connect to the university’s network. There, I have seen my new node appearing on babelweb. I could also see, using mytraceroute, the convergence of the routes. The response time optimised at each iteration before getting stable at a quite low packets loss and ping. Connecting to the mesh network of the university will make me able to test my modifications on the babel code.
On another topic, I managed to get a mesh network running between two computers. I then used ip route to add a route between the two computers. When I saw this new ad-hoc network going on, I achieved to transfer files and connect via ssh from a computer to another. This experience was quite interesting and really makes me eager to continue my work on Quagga.
As I said last time, I am still merging the work of Matthieu in my branch. As I understand more and more the working of the procol and the code, the patches of the branch of Matthieu seem clearer. I will therefore focus on that patching for the rest of the week. I know that I have been talking about that merge for a long time, but now, it seems like I have nothing else to work on, so I will be able to get that work done.
Stay tuned and see you soon
